Counselling for Epsom residents
If you are looking for a counsellor near Epsom, my practice in Sutton is just a short journey away. I am Roberta, a BACP-registered Integrative Counsellor, and I welcome clients from Epsom, Ewell, Stoneleigh and the surrounding area. I offer face-to-face sessions at my Sutton practice, as well as online and telephone counselling for those who prefer to work from home.
Epsom is a thriving market town in Surrey, known for its racecourse, its spa heritage and its excellent transport links to London. It is also home to a large and diverse community, and the pressures of modern life — anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship difficulties, the challenges of neurodiversity and disability — are just as present here as anywhere else.
I offer a warm, confidential space where you can talk honestly about what is troubling you — without judgement, without pressure, and at your own pace. All sessions are conducted in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework.
Counselling services available to Epsom residents
Getting to my Sutton practice from Epsom
Epsom is well connected to Sutton by rail and road. Epsom station has direct services to Sutton on the Thameslink line, with the journey taking around 15 to 20 minutes. By car, the journey via the A232 typically takes a similar time, and there is parking available near my practice.
For clients who prefer not to travel, I offer online video counselling and telephone counselling. Both formats are just as effective as face-to-face work for many people, and the flexibility of working from home can make it easier to fit sessions into a busy schedule. If you are unsure which format suits you, we can discuss this during the initial consultation.
Mental health support in the Epsom area
Epsom has a significant connection to mental health history — the Epsom Cluster of psychiatric hospitals, including Horton, Long Grove, Manor and St Ebba's, were among the largest in the country for much of the twentieth century. While those institutions are now closed, the need for accessible, high-quality mental health support in the area remains as important as ever.
Private counselling offers something that NHS services often cannot — regular, consistent, one-to-one support without long waiting lists, with a counsellor who has the time to get to know you properly and work with you at your own pace. I offer a initial consultation so you can find out whether counselling with me is the right fit, with no obligation to continue.
About Roberta — your Epsom area counsellor
I am a BACP-registered Integrative Counsellor with over 20 years of experience in mental health, disability and neurodiversity settings. I trained in both Person-Centred and Psychodynamic approaches, and I tailor my work to the individual — drawing on whichever approach is most useful for you.
I have worked with the RNIB, Sutton Mental Health Foundation and the Royal Marsden Hospital, and I bring the depth of experience from those roles to my private practice. I offer a initial consultation of around 20 minutes, with no obligation to continue. Sessions are 50 minutes, held weekly.
